That Violin String Thing! (Fingerboard flashcard set)
Finally, an easy answer to the question "Where do I play that note on the violin!" The flash cards and string mat teach the musical alphabet of A-G using figures from the book The Carrot, the Dog, the Egg and the Frog (... and the Bunny) (sold separately): Air, Bunny, Carrot, Dog, Egg, Frog and Grass. The front sides of the flash cards show the notes on the treble clef and the back sides show where to play the notes on the violin. The front of the string mat shows the figures (Air, Bunny, etc.) on the violin strings where the notes are located, while the back shows blank strings. This mat comes with instructions that explain how to use it to once and for all demystify whole and half steps and enharmonics
Players can quiz themselves by looking at the front of a flash card and using a dry-erase marker to draw the note where they think it is payed on the blank side of the string mat. The back of the flash card shows the answer. The flash cards and string mat also make it easy to understand what sharps and flats are and how they change where a note is played. Players can keep the string mats (figure side up) on their stands as they practice for a convenient reference guide.
Includes a 1 double-sided dry-erase string mat as well as 36 flash cards. The flash cards start at the lowest note on the violin (open G) and go through B on the E string. The instructions provide easily understandable explanations of half and whole steps as well as sharps and flats.
